Kevin Heath was born in humble beginnings in a one room home in Greece. He came to the United States at the age of 5 with his twin sister and was adopted by a family in Kaysville, Utah. Kevin excelled in school, sports, and music. Kevin joined the Navy in 1970 and served in Vietnam. After being wounded, he was sent home and enrolled at Weber State College. Kevin healed a lot better than doctors thought he would, and he went on to play running back for Weber State’s football team.
While serving in the Navy Kevin went to a nightclub and was surprised to see they were playing records (which no one in the US did at this time). It sparked an interest and so he bought a whole sound system and brought it back to the US.
In January 1973, Kevin started the first mobile DJ system in the United States. This led to him editing and mixing music for local high school dance and cheer teams. Fifty years later, Dance America & Fusion Sound, Inc. has clients in all 50 states and 43 countries. Dance America has also produced events and dance competitions in the intermountain west since 1978.
